According to the news report on Nov. 6, Samsung will soon start the development of its Galaxy Note 9. The report comes from South Korea, and cites local news publications that have obtained this info from a component supplier.
An official from a smartphone parts supplier was quoted by local news outlet The Bell as saying, “We will start providing components for a pilot production (of the Galaxy Note 9) in the first quarter next year.”
The codename, in particular, doesn’t provide any hints about the device and that’s okay – we are content with knowing that Samsung has started planning out the next steps for its successful Note lineup.
In particular, Galaxy Note 9 is expected to feature a fingerprint scanner embedded under the display, but as usual, we will see.
Samsung had called the pilot project for Galaxy Note 8 as “baikal,” one of the world’s biggest lakes in Russia, hinting at the large-sized display of the phablet, a portmanteau of phone and tablet.
